PROFESSIONAL CFI IN-HOUSE FLOORING INSTALLATION TRAINING = BIG DIVIDENDS!

 

Following the completion of a CFI workshop on location taught by a group of installation professionals, an onsite training program can be established. 

 

By participating in these sessions, your installers and sales associates WILL improve their skill level as well as gain a new excitement for flooring installation. 

 

Programs can be customized to fit your needs and scheduled during the week or on Saturdays only.

 

·         Saturday sessions from 7:30am to 4:00pm (minimum of 2 required)

·         6 consecutive weekday sessions from 7:30am to 5:30pm covers 3 topics

·         The cost of the training depends on the number of attendees and the type of session

 

SAMPLE OUTLINE for CARPET

  1. In-house training conducted by a member of the CFI Team

 

  1. Topics included in the carpet sessions
    1. Seam Construction
    2. Pattern Alignment
    3. Stair Upholstery
    4. Power Stretching
    5. Problem Solving
    6. “People” Skills and Product Knowledge
    7. Floor Preparation and Adhesive Installations

(there are many topics to address, but these are most important)

 

  1. CFI furnishes workbooks, training materials and written tests. Product and installation supplies are also sent to the site by participating manufacturer sponsors.

 

COST INSTALLER SKILLS CFI TRAINING

 

Option 1

Saturday sessions -  $3,560.00 per session, includes training for up to 8 students

            Days required to complete specific course training will vary according to session topics.

 

Option 2

            Monday through Saturday continuous days of training - $7,245.00 includes

skills training for up 8 installers.  Sessions include training in 3 flooring surfaces.  Cost of the training sessions for up to 12 installers is $12,880.00. 

 

 

 

COST SALES ASSOCIATE CFI TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION

 

Sales associates who attend the workshops receive the CFI Industry Technical Certification for the specific flooring surface.  Cost is $350.00 per attendee per course.  Minimal hands-on training is involved.  Availability of this program is based on the number of installers in attendance.  The National Wood Flooring Association also offers the online test for the NWFA Sales Counselor for an additional $50.00.

 

HOSTING REQUIREMENTS

  1. Training location

 

  1. Construction of props onsite with details furnished by CFI which can be used for future in-house training programs  

 

  1. Carpet remnants, roll ends, returns, etc. will be necessary for training.  Presently, Mohawk ships remnants for training, but the shipment is often short of patterns and berbers, which is the responsibility of the hosting party.  Hard surface materials are shipped to the location.

 

  1. A well-lit, heated or air-conditioned training space, free of noise and interruption. 

 

  1. In-house preparation work is required to begin the program on time.  The trainer will arrive the evening prior and because of flight schedules, may arrive late in the evening.  This includes cutting carpet, building props and set-up of area. 

 

  1. CFI will ship supplies to the site (seaming tape, adhesives, sealers, etc.)

 

 

ESTABLISHMENT of a CFI IN-HOUSE ONGOING TRAINING PROGRAM

 

Upon completion of a course, CFI is available for continued training.  However, the course can be continued by an in-house trainer who has successfully completed the course to be taught and is accredited by CFI.

            COST

               The cost for continued training through CFI is $110.50 per student for the workbook, training materials and written tests.

 

CERTIFICATES and/or CERTIFICATION

Those who successfully complete the course receive the CFI Carpet Installation Training Certificate.  Certification is not offered until the installer completes 2 years in the trade.

 

 

CFI TRAINING in HARD SURFACE FLOORING    

 

The educational topics are available upon request.  The training format is the same. 

 

WOOD:  Those who successfully complete the requirements of the course can also apply online for the National Wood Flooring Association Certification test for an additional $50.00 per student and take the Armstrong written test onsite at the conclusion of the course.

 

RESILIENT:  Those who successfully complete the skills and written test receive the CFI - Armstrong Certification.  Flash-coving and seam welding are also included for the CFI-Armstrong Commercial Certification with the addition of training hours. 

 

CERAMIC:  Those who successfully complete the course requirements receive the CFI-Ceramic Tile Certification
